About Michael Saupe

An Ambient, Chillout and Downbeat producer, Michael Saupe is dedicated to creating mesmerizing music that captivates the senses. His unique blend of atmospheric sounds and soothing melodies takes listeners on a journey of tranquility and introspection. With a passion for crafting emotive compositions, Michael Saupe continues to inspire and connect with audiences on a profound level.

Michael's musical journey began in the 1980s at music school, where he learned violin, trombone, and piano.
In the early 90s, he dove into electronic music production as a hobby, using an ATARI ST 1040, Korg M1, and C-Lab Notator. Back then, Michael had no plans to release music — it was purely for fun.

Throughout the 90s, Michael was deeply inspired by the iconic "Sound of Frankfurt." He never missed an episode of HR3-Clubnight, recording sets by legends like DJ Dag, Marc Spoon, and Sven Väth to replay at private parties and in the car.

In 2002, Michael picked up two Technics SL-1210 turntables and a DJ mixer, building a collection of trance, progressive house, and tech house vinyls. At the same time, he transitioned from Emagic Logic Platinum 5.5 (Windows) to exploring new tools as my passion for production evolved.

After a seven-year break, a 2013 remix contest reignited Michael's creativity. Marc O'Tool invited producers to remix his deep house track "Alive." Michael created a chillout version using Ableton Live 9 Suite — and to his surprise, Marc released it on his label, Mauritius Music Recordings. That became the first official release of Michael Saupe.

Since then, he’ve focused on producing chillout music — a journey that continues to unfold, track by track.
